General System & Internet Issues

Internet Issues

If you check your monitoring site and see that the system is offline, this does not necessarily mean that the system is not producing.  It may simply mean that the system is not connected to the internet, which is preventing data from being sent to the monitoring site.

Many things can cause the internet connection to be disrupted, including replacing your router, a password change, signal interference, etc.

  • In most cases, we can send you helpful links with instructions to help you get the system back online.
  • If you are unable to restore the connection on your own, we have qualified technicians who can assist you on site and help you understand how to restore the connection so that you can potentially avoid paying for another service visit if the issue reoccurs in the future.

If your system is no longer connected to the internet, don’t panic!

My Meter Is Frozen

Do you use your solar production meter to report your production data, but the meter screen is frozen or no longer works?

No worries, most of the time it is as simple as replacing the meter.

However, other factors can come into play:  A non-functioning meter can mean that the solar system itself has an underlying issue.

Either way, we are ready to help you get your meter back up and running:  Just call or email us today and a service coordinator will be happy to speak with you.

Production Issues

A production issue can be caused by any number of problems.

If you are having production issues, we will first do our best to troubleshoot the issue remotely.  If we can’t solve the problem remotely, we will explain what we believe the issue might be and help you schedule a visit from a technician to further troubleshoot your problem.

My Solar Breakers Keep Tripping

This is a direct message from your system that something may be wrong.

While a power outage or something simple might have caused the issue, if your solar breakers continue to trip after being reset, SolarFlair highly recommends leaving them off and giving us a call.

The most common reason for this problem is Critter Damage (You can refer to our Critter Problems & Guard section for more information on what that can look like).

There are other smaller factors that can be the cause of the problem, such as a loose connection near the breaker or on the roof.

Either way, a solar professional should be contacted if your solar breakers continue to trip.
