Framingham, MA – SolarFlair Energy, Inc. welcomed Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and State Secretary of Energy, Ian Bowles at SolarFlair’s recently completed 18 kW solar project in Framingham, Massachusetts. The Governor spoke of the need for growth in the manufacturing sector in Massachusetts and the need for stable energy costs as a foundation for this growth. Solar energy systems provide an opportunity for manufacturing facilities to lock in a portion of their utility costs and break away from volatile energy prices. Through the Governor’s Commonwealth Solar Program, Massachusetts businesses can capture rebates that cover 40% of the cost to purchase a solar energy system.

The solar energy system was installed at Nanmac Corp, a manufacturer of temperature sensors for precision applications including solar cell furnaces.  With solar power, the company has reduced its utility costs by more than 25%.  The project brought together several Massachusetts companies in a successful partnership.  SolarFlair provided design, installation, and project management services while Evergreen Solar and Solectria Renewables manufactured the major components.

The real time power output of the solar energy system can be observed at http://www.nanmac.com/green.html
