Tell us about your experience at SolarFlair:

I have been with SolarFlair for over 4 years and have worked on projects ranging in size from 2KW to 1MW.  It has been very rewarding helping the company grow from its humble beginnings to where it is now.  I have no doubt that SolarFlair will continue to grow into a major player in the solar industry.

What did you do before SolarFlair?

Prior to joining SolarFlair, I operated my own contracting business.  With 30 years of experience in the industry, I’ve seen a lot!

SolarFlair is somewhat of a “family affair” for you- can you speak to that?

The culture at SolarFlair is very family oriented.  My brother Steven is the Outside Superintendent and both of my children work here during their summer breaks.  We take great pride in getting to know each other and each other’s families and it shows as the atmosphere in the office and on the field is very professional, but, generally relaxed. This type of culture, I believe, helps with productivity.  We are a tight knit company, and, our staff is composed of a very impressive group of people who are very capable of tackling and completing the biggest and most complex projects in the area.

What is the most rewarding part of working in the Solar industry?

There are two things that I find most rewarding about working in the Solar Industry.  First is the opportunity to really educate people about the benefits of solar energy.  Most people are unaware of what we are doing and how it is helping the environment.  The second thing is that I love being part of something that is going to have such a positive outcome for my children’s future and for future generations.  We all will reap the benefits of cleaner air and cleaner electricity and I find that immensely rewarding and motivating.

What do you do outside of work?

My main focus outside of work is spending time with my children.  Whether it is watching them play sports or spending time at the beach on Cape Cod, I really enjoy their company.  I also play baseball during the spring and summer and love to entertain friends.  The big news for me right now is that I am training for my first Boston Marathon (actually, first marathon ever).  I have joined the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge Team in honor of my mother who passed away from colon cancer 10 years ago.  I am really excited to be part of this team as it is a cause that I truly believe in.  I have pledged to raise over $10,000.00 for the team so if anyone would like to contribute I would greatly appreciate it. And, if you happen to be along the Marathon Course on April 15th keep your eyes out for me.  I will be the guy wearing the SolarFlair hat with JEFF C. written across my shirt!!
