SolarFlair Case Studies
Stage Stop Candy Company
OVERVIEW
Owner Ray Hebert could have become part of his family’s Massachusetts candy-making business, but he wanted to keep his craft on a smaller scale. So, he opened Stage Stop Candy, where all of the candy is made on the premises, and he invented the cranberry cordial (which is like a cherry cordial except with cranberries).
SolarFlair designed and installed a 33 kW solar photovoltaic system to provide 100% of the electricity needs for the candy making production and eliminate their utility bill. The roof of the facility could only sustain a small solar power system, however, the adjacent field next to the facility provided the perfect alternative to meet this business owner’s goal of producing his own power.
